We are an independent Recruitment Agency established in 1998 and based in Edinburgh’s West End. We specialise in the temporary and permanent placement of experienced and confident office support staff. Our aim is to provide a professional service with the personal touch, working with both client and candidate to make the best match of skill and personal qualities. We are proud to still be working with many clients from 1998; these include Lothian & Borders Police (Family Protection and HR), Anderson Strathern Solicitors and Midlothian Council.

Jackie Lawrie, Director, was an HR Consultant with a leading retailer for five years prior to commencing her career in recruitment in 1989. Initially employed by a multi-national recruitment agency she supported national accounts moving in 1991 to concentrate on the placement of permanent staff with an Edinburgh independent agency. Jackie opened up Lawrie Thomson in 1998 prompted by the birth of her daughter and the determination to successfully combine work with family life.

Janis Kaye, Administrator, has been with Lawrie Thomson since 2000 originally as a member of our temporary legal support team providing quality secretarial and administrative support to leading legal firms in Edinburgh. Janis has also supported Lothian & Borders Police with confidential report writing and worked as a private and personal secretary. Bringing her wealth of office experience and knowledge of the job market, she has now taken responsibility for managing all administrative procedures for the agency including the implementation and management of our database and candidate register.

Sandra Harvey, Business Development Manager, has an extensive and impressive knowledge of both Edinburgh and Scottish businesses and employment trends. Her strengths lie in supporting clients to obtain their business objectives by research and negotiation.
